I'm currently a junior at Michigan State University studying finance.  You may be asking yourself why a finance major would have any interest in the field of archaeology.  I was thinking the same thing before I took archaeology as an elective this year.  I wasn't sure if I would find this course interesting since it is so far removed from my major field of study.  I soon realized that there is much more to archaeology than just digging up old bones.  My class was fascinating and taught me the importance of archaeology and how it plays a vital role in our ability to learn from, as well as document the human race's progression over time.  This class really opened my eyes to the world outside of business, where archaeologists work on hands and knees, attempting to solve the great mysteries of the human past.

I made this website with the intention of teaching anyone, particularly fellow college students, the basics of archaeology. Hopefully my website will spark an interest in people to learn even more, as well as get involved in the field of archaeology. Many college student's core curriculum most likely does not include an archaeology or anthropology class, so maybe my website will encourage some students to enroll in an archaeology course and explore the discipline further!
